North Beach Lofts
A stone's throw from the lake
North Beach Lofts is a 43-unit conversion of The Duxler Tire Co.'s warehouse in Rogers Park, the northern most neighborhood of the city.
Features
The project, which is close to the lake, offers distinct sloping ceilings. Developer Bill Markle left the building's concrete ramps intact, resulting in 14-foot sloping ceilings and exposed concrete joists in some of the units.
The units feature stainless steel appliances, granite counters and breakfast bars. Private balconies or terraces are included.
Amenities
The building offers a common rooftop deck, affording views of the neighborhood, said Jody Ciral Williams of Jameson Realty Group, which is marketing the development.
Location
Ciral Williams noted that the neighborhood includes the popular Morseland, a supper club just across the road from North Beach Lofts. The lively Italian pizza and pasta restaruant Leona's also is close by on North Sheridan Road.
"There are condo conversions popping up all over," Ciral Williams said. "It's a good, affordable place."
In January 2006, North Beach Lofts was 70 percent sold and units were available for immediate occupancy.
